To answer the obvious question (or, more specifically, the question obvious to people reading this via e-mail who can’t see the webpage featured photo): it’s pronounced “byal-tin-uh.”

This is my first feature piece for Next Mag, excluding the time I subbed in for Ryan for his weekly theatre column. What fun! The Bealtaine Theatre Festival is Canada Ireland Foundation’s festival of Irish theatre. Four plays will be presented over May-June, all at their new home in downtown Toronto.
