A brief note

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate all the kind words that have been said in response to my most recent article. My voice isn’t the most important one out there, but I felt inclined to say something with the hopes that it would resonate with someone. So thank you for reading and sharing.

Anyway, I’ve been invited to review two shows this week, which means a lot to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for these opportunities. I feel it is my professional obligation to attend and write the reviews, as promised.

All this is to say – no, we’re not ok. We’re all heartbroken and terrified. I’m still disappointed in the silence of the Toronto theatre community at large (though thank you to the National Ballet of Canada, who recently released a statement). But the world keeps moving, and I refuse to let down the people who support my work. So stay tuned as I escape this terror for a brief moment by going to see live theatre. And please, stay safe.

– Lori
