Review: The Haunting (Toronto)

Good afternoon, folks.

My latest review was published in Next Magazine – for The Haunting, a one-woman, interactive play performed for one audience member at a time. Yup, it’s just you and the performer. Truthfully, the experience wasn’t dissimilar to an appointment with my RMT (she’s chatty).

The difficulty with this review wasn’t the content – I knew how I felt about the show. It was finding the courage to admit those feelings in a public forum. It’s harder to do that when you can’t hide behind the veil of the crowd and it’s just you and the performer in the room. It’s like staring into your Uber driver’s eyes while you give him a rating.

Anyway, enjoy this oddly personal review (odd for the Next Mag format, at least).
