As my dad always says, “it doesn’t matter how you play the game, it’s whether you win or lose.”
Jokes aside, I’m Runner-Up for this year’s Nathan Cohen Award for Outstanding Emerging Critic. This is the first time my writing has been recognized in any capacity, except for my 6th grade speech competition, but let’s face it – Ouma Roma (aka my mom) was a helper on that one.
The write-up about my work in the announcement blurb refers to me as an “adult and parent.” I’m pleased to be professionally recognized as an adult. I hope that means I’m not kicked off my parents’ phone plan.
Jokes aside (for real) – I’m really honoured. Thank you for reading my ramblings. I look forward to continuing to grow as a critic, and I hope you’ll stay with me!

Keep up the lovely writing (and humour). You’re my doorway into the world of Toronto theatre!!
